Let. Fresnans… BANDGEEK!:
FRIDAY
KUPPAJOE'S: God will be watching Dreamers, Your Hero is a Villain, Before Kings, and The Vera Project. Will you?:
FULTON 55: Definitely the big show of the night. The last time 40 Watt Hype headlined at F55 show it sold out. So getting tickets ahead of time might not be such a bad thing…a non-Fresnan thing but still. Also local reggae rockers Clouded Vision and electronic popper Sahab:
THE REVUE CAFE: Hit the backroom for The Diry Dirties and more:
THAI PALMS: Homegrown trippled hopped rock from This Planet Prelude, For The Record and No Cause For Alarm:
STARLINE: Maybe we've seen one-too-many fliers but we think THINK maybe, just maybe, we see some sort of subliminal type symbol or message in Local 13's logo:
THE LAMP POST: Local METAALLL with Hands That Kill, 9th Level, Dawning Of A Massacre and Fatal Rebirth. [$4, 8pm, 21+]
SATURDAY
AUDIE'S OLYMPIC: It's the Fresno Beard & Moustache Club's three year anniversary and all beards will be flared for Gayle and the Bowties, punk tributers The Misshits, Meat Wagon Apocalypse and That Guy Kevin:
AT AUDIE'S OLYMPIC: San Francisco Romani Balkan brass band, Inspector Gadje. Not sure if they're bringing everyone on the trip but there are 16 members in this band so things could get kinda crazy (especially if they all have 'drink chips' at the bar). They're playing with Fresno's Cerro Negro.
Inspector Gadje:
FULTON 55: San Francisco alt-pop band Finish Ticket, plus acoustic punk dude Weary Hands and Fresno's own Le Wolves. [$5, 9pm, 21+]
Finish Ticket:
AT THE THUNDERDOME (house party): You may need to know someone at Fresno DIY Project or maybe Threat Level Rising to go to this show. But if you do, you get to catch some Finland punk from Haistelijat:
Tonight, Fresno's Cabin Fire is having a CD Release Party at The CYC for their new EP "Humid City". Maybe it's not the most accessible music there is but that's all relative. We think it's as accessible as hell. In fact, we can access the fuck out of it:
Also playing at The CYC tonight (besides Fresno's Grow), are a couple out-of-town bands making stops: Mahria (Edmonton, AB) and Leer (SJ):
This one is a roller coaster, friends. Two Fresno podcasts do a mash-up with Dorktown to create a MEGACAST! So basically three podcasts try to do their podcasts at one time. Does it work? We're not sure ourselves so please give it a shot and let us know. We do know we were dicks (didn't mean to be it just seemed to happen) and loudmouthed most of the show – sure was fun.
THE PLAYERS:
LISTEN TO THE SHOW:
Support Tioga Sequoia Brewing because they are big supporters of Craft Beer, Downtown Fresno and Fresno podcasts!
Check out Dorktown's home, leave a kickass review on iTunes, like their Face and Tweet'um… you know… if you have the time or whatever.
Your firework hangover should be cleared out by now. Time to get out there this weekend and enjoy some live music. LET'S BANDGEEK!!!
FRIDAY
KUPPAJOE'S: Fresno Coasts Into Summer with Rookie of the Year (NC), Challenger!, Eryn Woods, Clouds like Mountains, & Get Up & Go:
TOKYO GARDEN: Stopping in Fresno tonight, Olivia Mancini "Olivia writes pop songs. Upbeat, melody-driven, and not interested in being taken too seriously, Olivia-the-music is a lot like Olivia-the-person. Likable." There ya go. Go:
AUDIE'S OLYMPIC: Comedy at Audie's? It makes sense when it's Neil Hamburger. Plus Brian Kenney Fresno opens so now we're totally getting it:
FULTON 55: Assless chaps are encouraged at Glam Corbra will be hitting the stage for a FREE event!:
THAI PALMS: Homegrown Fridays returns after a week off with Keep Your Fingers Crossed, 2 Hours Later and Relion:
