In Town Tonight: Typical Thursday Night Kickass
Like it. It's seems Fulton 55 is opening things up a bit. Doin' some punk action, we see. Big Sexy Anus Kings are playing… wait. That was supposed to be seperate. Big Sexy and Anus Kings yes AND Anus Kings are playing…. Anus Kings. Plus the return of Fresno's Beastmaker and maybe the first time It'll Grow Back plays F55 we thinks:
Audie's Olympic. Fresnan Sahab, Mondo Deco (Sac-town glam) and Style Like Revelators (Fresno bluseyrock).
The CYC. Kayo Dot is a "compositional/avant rock band" out of Brooklyn. Wreck & Reference is "experimental drone" music from Los Angels. Strawberry Jam (Fresno) and Ovarian Office… isn't playing, but Eindrah (Fresno) is taking their place so it's cool:
In Town Tonight: SHEL, Ten Thousand Leagues
FULTON 55: Four classically trained musicians, whom happen to be sisters that were raised in an artist colony, will make for a interesting night at F55 tonight. They are called SHEL and we advise you to check them out:
THE CYC: Something musically nowhere near the Fulton 55 show. So-Cal hardcore from Ten Thousand Leagues, Lyburnum and A Modern Loss. Plus Stockton's A Place Called Home, Fresno's Grow and Cabin Fire:
In Town Tonight: Uprooted and Animal Kingdom
Southern Cali reggae and hip-hop act, UpRooted. Plus Papafish (so-cal ska) and local backing from Checkered Past and The White Glove Service.
They come all the way from England. They've played their Brit alt-indie rock with the likes of the Silversun Pickups and Vampire Weekend. They are Animal Kingdom. They are playing with Atlas Genius from Australia – we've heard that's very far from Fresno too.
Cool Animal Kingdom video:
BANDGEEK!: Fresno Covers Fresno, Gets Into A Strawberry Jam, Blows A Fuse Box and finds some Nashville Pussy
Good stuff happening this weekend. Let's do our research before we head out. Let's Bandgeeeeek!!:
FRIDAY
TOKYO GARDEN: We have only three weeks left until we geek-out on FUSE Fest #5! This show isn't part of the main festival but it is put on by the Fresno Urban Sound Experience. It's show one in a series of shows that will raise money to make an album of Fresno bands covering other Fresno musician's music. Cool stuff. Playing live tonight and helping out is That Guy Kevin, Omar Nare', Blake Jones & the Trike Shop and The Overdubs:
FULTON 55: People have been saying not to miss Strawberry Jam…just sayin'. We hear Sci-Fi Caper and Francis Ward are pretty good too. We also hear that *Surprise Guest* sucks shit:
AUDIE'S OLYMPIC: Yes, Nashville Pussy, [insert lame pussy reference here] will be rocking Audie's tonight. Local rock provided by The Backstabbers, Blue Crown and Thrawtle:
THE LAMP POST: Check out Not Perfect Humans with Whatever The Matter. [$?, 8pm, 21+]
THAI PALMS: Fresno's Rubiks Theory:
STARLINE: That Wild Bunny just won't go away, he still thinks he can rock. Maybe he can, who knows. Certainly Fuse Box can rock some AC/DC and it doesn't hurt that it's free:
In Town Tonight: Outernational and Calibre Zero
AT Fulton 55: Welcome the return of Outernational. Rolling Stone likes them, AP likes them, hell even Houston likes them, Fresnans are bound to. Joined by Fresno's Basura! More show info can be found here.
How about a free download of their song "Empty Lives"? A song from their EP Future Rock produced by Tom Morrelo (RAGTM) no less. Listen/download: Empty Lives.
AT Audie's Olympic: More International stuff, this one is fucking metal with Spain's Calibre Zero:
Spain does metal:
