Fresno's really showing off now. It's Spring and there's too damn much going on, especially for one shitty blogger to keep up with. ArtHop is tonight with dumps of stuff (artists love it when you refer to their pieces as "dumps of stuff") all over at places like this:
Also, that blog that has never stopped believing that blogs are popular, the Fresno Beehive, are putting on another Tweetup with the Grizzlies, poolside:
Downtown Fresno is all into doing stuff on Thursday nights now:
Arthop is so popular it produces bi-product events:
Oh yes, there's the normal during Arthop live music like the Light Theives playing…
…And post-Arthop live music as well:
There's probably a buncha other junk happening too…after all it is Fresno: lot's of stuff happens here.
The dates have been decided, local music festival the Fresno Urban Sound Experience is happening September 6th, 7th and 8th this year!
Like last year, there will be two nights (and some day time stuff too) of music. There is also a new third night, a special preview night, during September ArtHop (that's Thursday night the 6th).
There will be a nice mix of new and returning venues this year. Frank's Place at Warnors will return as will Fulton 55 and Tokyo Garden. And there is a nod to year-one as the old Milano's (now the Fresno Brewing Company) returns, plus a couple new spots you'll find out more about later.
Gettin' pumped already. What bands do you want to see play this year?
Yet another fruitful weekend of music for Fresno. Sure hope you have Saturday morning to recover because Friday is going to be rude. Let's BANDGEEK!:
FULTON 55: It's not often that one of Fresno's top bands of all time, Let's Go Bowling, plays so this one moves from a show to a EVENT:
AUDIE'S OLYMPIC: If you like the Fay Wrays, then you probably like (or will like) The Soma Holidays. That's 'cause The Soma Holidays are kinda the Fay Wray's grandad… or something. It's a big reunion show for the Holidays (we told ya about this, complete with free mp3 downloads) because it's been seven years since they've played together. Keeping the stage warm for them is Achievement House, The Red Coats and straight from Portland (via Fresno and Nashville) is Kat Jones. Good times. [$8, 9pm, 21+]
BABYLON: Diehardz Music presents The Accident Experiment (with Marcos Curiel from P.O.D) Also doing stuff is Down Word, Outside the Wire, Clockwork Hero (Stockton), Kinship, and S.K.O.P.E:
KUPPAJOE: Sacramento alt rock guy, Josiah James. Plus Quiet Science (Merritt Island, FL), Omotola and My Beautiful Surrender. How terribly awesome is this flier?:
THE CYC: The promoter wisely put an early start time for this one as there are a dump load of bands playing: Brotherhood, Limits, Phoenix Emerge, Head Over Heals, Fatty Cakes, Dependence and Lover Boy:
THAI PALMS: Homegrown Fridays returns with a familiar face: This Planet Prelude. Plus I Do Not Exist and No Cause For Alarm:
STARLINE: It was the late 80s (or maybe early 90s) and Bang Tango was a band. That played. Music and stuff. Well God bless them they're still doing it, and frankly…Why the hell not!? Locally supported by Six Day Truce, Hammerdown Sindrum and Tipsy Gipsy:

Fulton 55 has two shows with returning (again) Fresno legends. The CYC has goes all weekend long, Starline has Layne Staley as a girl and KFSR could use your donations. ALL in this weeks… BANDGEEK!:
THE CYC: Wow this all California lineup is kinda huge with… hugeness. Joyce Manor (Torrance), TSOSIS (Elk Grove), Tidemouth (Santa Clarita), New York Taxi (Glendora), Mane Horse (Fresno), Fast Car (Fresno) and Tough Stuff (Garden Grove):
KUPPAJOE: Check it: The Roos, Saving Temperance, Mongrel City, Wise Cub, & Frontier:
AUDIE'S OLYMPIC: Metal up with Fe Talis, 9th Level, Ruthless, and Hymn of Rlyeh:
FULTON 55: So bigtime Fresno rock dudes, Six Ounce Gloves, are still around and don't seem to be going away after all. Speaking of, just when you thought rising Fresno metal band, Mercury Bullet, had gone away too THEY have come back big. "New" Fresno rock band Relax Reload (seems like maybe it's Say Swear), will open it up:
STARLINE: Mix it up with locals Dislodic, The Dirty Dirties, Siren Singing and The Long Black Veils:
THE LAMP POST: Like seeing some acts, that normally play the under 21 circuit, playing at the Lamp Post. Restaurnaut, Fatty Cakes, and Control Noodle. [$0, 9pm, 21+]

With it being Rogue time, there's even more going on musically this weekend. Check out some Rogue Festival options on the site – we'd lay them out for ya here but there just isn't the time (you relize nobody gets paid for this crap, right?). As for the rest of Fresno's kickass music lineup… it's BANDGEEEEK!!:
AUDIE'S OLYMPIC: Almost a pop-up show with this one as it came together quick. Strange Vine is headed back to SXSW and they need Audie to send them off. Playing with Light Thieves and Style Like Revelators:
C.A.F.E. INFOSHOP: Another show at Info' that will help… The Bel-Tower (When's Info' gonna get some cash?!)… hey, whatever, it's cool either way. Playing is locals Light Thieves, Cabin Fire, El Joe of the River, Eindrah, Loverboy, plus Oakland's AYS and Santa Rosa's Teenage Sweater.
KUPPAJOE: Fresno rock band Mercy Fists, plus a CD release show from Running The Risk (Fresno/Los Angeles), Witzend (Sac), The Unbelievable (Fresno) and Valkyrie Missile (Fresno):
THE CYC: Yo it's all local and crazy with Gorilla Stomp releasing a CD and the near endless amount of bands playing:
FULTON 55: It's the return of U2 tribute band The Joshua Tree:

There's the beginning of Rogue with stuff like this and this and this:
Then there's the typical Thursday night music stuff with AC Myles at the Lamp Post and a tour kick off show from Bully The Kid and I Do Not Exist:
The next 10 days in Fresno shall be interesting:
